Advanced Nursing Concepts (ANC) is driven to provide exceptional in-home care to those we serve while exceeding the industry’s highest standards for quality. Inspired be patient care, Advanced Nursing Concepts represents what the home care experience should be and treats each patient-client as an individual who is deserving of our respect, attention and highest level of professionalism.

Healing Begins
When Christine Magnifico and Jennifer Thomas-Moore opened Advanced Nursing Concepts, Inc. in March 2002, they shared a common goal: providing the highest quality care and support to patients in the comfort of their home. These women, who come from nursing backgrounds, relentlessly charged full-steam ahead to achieve this goal.

From the beginning, they’ve possessed the qualities necessary of successful business leaders. They take charge, make important decisions and solve complex problems. They hire only those people who they feel will be beneficial to their company. They have a unique ability to communicate their company objectives to employees and make employees equally excited and committed about achieving those objectives.

Finally, they’ve spent the last eight years always setting higher goals. In essence, Christine and Jennifer are mountain climbers who, having climbed one peak, look beyond to the next highest.

As a result, Advanced Nursing Concepts (ANC) has become a thriving company that now covers three counties and employs 150 people. In addition, while the business was initially stated as a home health agency, it now offers other services such as private duty care and outpatient therapy services.

ANC is locally owned and operated, meaning one call will lead to a decision-maker who can address the needs of patients. Most importantly, because of Christine and Jennifer’s solid leadership, ANC is a mainstay in an era where home healthcare agencies frequently come and go.

“We’re two registered nurses who have been in home healthcare for 16 years and performed every facet of home health,” Jennifer said. “We’ve been out personally and given baths when we didn’t have staff to do so. We’ve arranged for social services, cleaned houses, swept floors, provided nursing care and formulated marketing plans. As a result we hold the bar very high, and I expect employees to take care of patients like they would take care of my grandmother. The services we offer are the same as our competitors; what differentiates us is how the services are delivered.”

Commitment to Community
While Jennifer and Christine have always emphasized a commitment to quality, they’ve been equally passionate about maintaining a commitment to community. Their love for the community stems from the fact that both received their associate’s degree from Lake-Sumter Community College and attended nursing school at Lake Technical Center.

Meet Jennifer Thomas-Moore
While I grew up in Orange County, I moved to Lake County in 1993. I attended school at Lake Sumter Community College and Lake Technical Center, then called Vo-Tech, finally receiving my RN degree in 1999. I have remained in Lake County ever since 2002 and currently live in Umatilla with my husband, Robert Moore (Real Estate Investor) and my two daughters, Brittany Thomas, 20, who is a full time student at Seminole State Community College and Courtney Thomas, 17, who is a Junior at Eustis High School. While spending quality time with my family is probably most important to me, outside of work, I love to travel, go boating, camping, canoeing, snow skiing and of course shopping.

In Your Home
“For us, Lake Tech was an invaluable program,” sand Christine, a 1992 graduate of Leesburg High School. “We credit the school with making is the nurses we are today and providing us with a good foundation. We started our knowledge base locally and came back locally to run our business. That’s why we’re dedicated to making the area a great place to live, work and raise a family.”

In December 2008, Jennifer and Christine turned the annual Christmas party into a charitable gala event. That year, ANC raised $5,000 for the Children’s Home Society and in 2009 the gala raised nearly $14,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation. Advanced Nursing Concepts has also sponsored the Eustis Junior Panthers football team, Treadway Elementary School, Relay for Life, the Golden Triangle YMCA, the Children’s Advocacy Center, Blue Lake Academy and numerous outreach programs.

“We feel blessed because this company has been successful, and a big part of that is because the community supported us from the beginning,” Jennifer said. “We love Lake County and moved back here to start a company and raise our families. Therefore, we feel it’s important to give back to the community.”

Commitment to Company
Kristin Thompson joined ANC in September 2004 with no home healthcare background. The company provided her with extensive training, and throughout the years Kristin thrived in her job. So much so she was promoted to Director of Nursing in February 2009.

“One of the reasons I enjoy working here is because I don’t feel like just a regular employee,” she said. “The owners always ask me questions because they feel my opinion matters. I also appreciate the fact that even though the company has grown we still maintain a family-like atmosphere. A lot of companies lose that as they become bigger. I come here every day knowing I can expect open, direct communication from company leaders as well as peers. That is very satisfying for me.”

Like Kristin, other employees enjoy working at ANC because of the family atmosphere fostered by Jennifer and Christine. They ensure employees have the tools and training to perform their jobs safely and effectively. And they give employees an opportunity to grow their skills, gain valuable experience and advance professionally.

“We believe in promoting from within and we want to see each employee grow professionally,” Christine said. “Our very first employee is still here today. She started as our secretary and now is the Coordinator of the Private Duty Division. We always ask ourselves when we hire an employee how that employee will make our company stronger. We only want the best people on our team.”

Meet Christine Magnifico
I consider myself to be a true product of Lake County. I’ve attended school from elementary through graduation from Leesburg High School in 1992. I started my nursing career with LRMC and found my passion in home health care. While I’m passionate about my company and dedicate a large portion of my time to it, outside of work I enjoy everything not only Lake County has to offer, but all of Florida. I spend most of my time with my two kids and close friends enjoying camping, beaches and everything outdoors. When I’m not enjoying outdoor life, I enjoy scrapbooking.
